Nutritional Therapy
The evidence based approach to health that applies the science of nutrition to promote optimal health and wellbeing.
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is an evidence based approach to health that applies the science of nutrition to promote optimal health and wellbeing. It is based on the Functional Medicine concept which looks at the body as a web-like network of systems. Health is not a simple matter of cause and effect; one condition may result from multiple causes and one cause may present in multiple conditions. This holistic approach identifies and addresses the root cause of the problem rather than just addressing the symptoms.
Who can benefit from Nutritional Therapy?
When our bodies are not working to their full potential, the gradual decline can take many years before diseases and their symptoms start to present. Nutritional Therapy may be suitable as a preventative measure for people who want to maintain their good health or as an additional support for people with various health conditions.
My job as a Nutritional Therapist
Each individual has their own unique chemical make-up based on their genes, diet and lifestyle which is why as a registered Nutritional Therapist I develop programmes specifically catered for each of my client’s needs. Where appropriate, I will recommend nutritional supplementation as well as NHS or private laboratory testing for a greater overview of your general health or deeper insight into any specific areas. With your consent, I will actively communicate with your GP or may refer you to a specialist in the relevant field should it fall beyond my remit of practice.
Disclaimer – Nutritional Therapy is not recommended as a substitute for conventional medicine. Should you have any health concerns, approach your primary health care practitioner as soon as possible.
